Snapdragon 768G vs Snapdragon 765G SoC Full Comparison

In our world today, particularly with increasing technological advances, more goes into consideration when buying a mobile phone than just being able to make and receive calls.

However, one detail most people still don’t pay enough information to and which could be said to be the most important part of the smartphone is its processor.

Being the leading brand, Qualcomm is about to launch another upper-mid-range SoC, the Snapdragon 768G, to power 5G devices.

It is a ready-to-use 5G chipset with a mid-range performance grid.

The company announced in December 2019 that it will be the successor of Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G and Snapdragon 765 SoCs.

Here in this article is the full comparison of Snapdragon 768G vs Snapdragon 765G SoC

Snapdragon 768G vs Snapdragon 765G: CPU and GPU

1. CPU

Continue comparison with CPU portion, here both have octa-core CPU architecture based on 64-bit memory.

First of all, Snapdragon 768 G divides its core into three clusters which include 1 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Core clocked at 2,80GHz, 1 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Core operating at 2,40GHz, and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Silver Cores clocked at 1,80GHz.

While on the other hand, Snapdragon 765 G features 1 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Core operating at 2.40GHz, 1 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Core clocked at 2.20GHz, and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Silver Cores operating at clock speeds of up to 1.80GHz.

Here the Snapdragon 768G’s big cores have better clock speed than the Snapdragon 765G while the small cores have the same speed in both SoCs.

The newer Snapdragon 768 G is thus a better chipset than the Snapdragon 765 G in terms of CPU efficiency.

2. GPU

Snapdragon 768 G integrates the Adreno 620 GPU clocked at up to 750MHz for gaming and other graphical tasks, while Snapdragon 765 G also got the same Adreno 620 GPU with a different clock speed of 625MHz.

Here the GPU of Snapdragon 768 G has a better clock speed than the GPU of Snapdragon 765 G because of which Snapdragon 768 G can offer a better gaming experience than Snapdragon 765G.

So in the case of gaming, also Snapdragon 768 G is a better SoC than Snapdragon 765G.

Manufacturing Process

Both Snapdragon 768 G and 765 G are the same in this section because both are built from TSMC’s 7 nm production process.

Snapdragon 768G vs Snapdragon 765G: Memory, Camera & Display

1. Camera

Coming to camera and optics, here Snapdragon 765 G features a 14-bit dual-ISP Qualcomm Spectra 355 image signal processor which supports dual cameras up to 22MP + 22MP.

While it can support up to 36MP single camera with MFNR and ZSL at 30fps and can go up to 192MP by sacrificing MFNR and ZSL, in the case of a single camera.

On the other hand, Snapdragon 768G’s ISP specifics are not yet known but we can assume it will have an upgraded ISP over Snapdragon 765G.

2. Memory

Snapdragon 768 G supports up to 12 GB LPDDR4x dual-channel RAM clocked at up to 2133MHz in the case of RAM, while Snapdragon 765 G also supports the same type of RAM.

On storage, here both chipsets have support for storage based on UFS 2.1 and UFS 3.0. Both are similar here too.

3. Display

Other features of Snapdragon 768 G and Snapdragon 765 G are almost the same except for CPU and GPU.

The display feature is also the same in both chipsets, both support up to 60Hz QHD+ and 120Hz Full HD+ displays.

Connectivity Features

Connectivity-wise both are similar too. Both are 5 G ready chipsets, speaking of Snapdragon 765 G

It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon X52 Modem-RF Device capable of providing a maximum download speed of up to 3.7Gbps and upload speed of up to 1.6Gbps while it can catch a maximum download speed of up to 210Mbps on a 4 G network.

Although the modem details provided on Snapdragon 768 G are not yet known.

Conclusion

To conclude, as you saw in the comparison, Snapdragon 768G upgraded CPU and GPU over Snapdragon 765G while all other features of both chipsets are almost identical.

The Snapdragon 768 G, a successor to Snapdragon 765 G, has an upgraded CPU and GPU.

And Snapdragon 768 G vs Snapdragon 765 G is a better chipset than Snapdragon 765 G as compared to Snapdragon 768G.
