While both the Snapdragon 765G and the Snapdragon 690 are octa-core CPUs, there are some notable differences in their core configurations which makes it hard to determine if one is better than the other without actually testing them in real life.
The first difference is in terms of the manufacturing process which is 7nm for the Snapdragon765G and 8nm for the Snapdragon 690 and here.
It’s clear that the 765G is better. The Snapdragon 765G also has a higher clock speed of 2.4 GHz whereas the Snapdragon 690 is clocked at 2 GHz only.
However, Qualcomm introduced their Snapdragon 690 chipset recently.
It is a mid-range chipset that comes with ARM Cortex-A77 CPUs and integrated 5 G support.
As a 5G chipset, it will get a rivalry with Qualcomm’s and other companies’ other 5G chipsets.
We’ll be contrasting Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 vs Snapdragon 765 G chipsets here.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 vs Snapdragon 765G Quick Comparison
Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G is an upper-mid-range chipset with excellent efficiency in the middle.
However, the Snapdragon 690 is much better in many cases while the Snapdragon 765 G is a better chipset in some cases.

Snapdragon 690 vs Snapdragon 765G: CPU and GPU
Starting from the comparison with the Processor segment, here both chipsets have 64-bit octa-core Processors
Where Snapdragon 690 has 2 ARM Cortex-A77 Gold Cores clocked up to 2.00GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Silver Cores operating up to 1.70GHz.
While the Snapdragon 765 G features 1 ARM Cortex-A76 Core clocked up to 2.4GHz, 1 ARM Cortex-A76 Core running up to 2.2GHz and 6 ARM Core clock speed.
The Snapdragon 690 has better CPU architecture here while the Snapdragon 765 G has a better speed of the clock.
The new Snapdragon 690 has the Adreno 619L GPU for gaming purposes, while in the Snapdragon 765 G you get the Adreno 620 GPU clocked at a clock speed up to 625MHz.
Here the Snapdragon 765 G has a better GPU because of which in comparison with the Snapdragon 690 chipset it can offer better gaming performance.
In this segment, Snapdragon 690 is manufactured using 8 nm LPP process technology, while the Snapdragon 765 G is manufactured using a 7 nm production process.
The Snapdragon 765 G also is stronger here than the Snapdragon 690. In comparison to Snapdragon 690, it uses less fuel.
Snapdragon 690 vs Snapdragon 765G: Camera, Memory & Display
The Snapdragon 690 features the Qualcomm Spectra 355L image signal processor, which is a 14-bit dual ISP and supports up to 16MP + 16MP dual.
And a single camera up to 192MP without MFNR and ZSL. With MFNR and ZSL, it supports a single camera sensor of up to 36MP.
On the other hand, Snapdragon 765G is equipped with the Qualcomm Spectra 355 image signal processor which is also a 14-bit dual ISP and supports up to 22MP + 22MP dual cameras.
And up to 192MP single camera without MFNR and ZSL.
With MFNR and ZSL, it supports a single camera sensor of up to 32MP.
The Snapdragon 765 G also is stronger here than the Snapdragon 690.
Here the Snapdragon 690 has support for storage of up to 8 GB LPDDR4x RAM clocked at up to 2133MHz and eMMC 5.1 & UFS 2.1.
On the other hand, Snapdragon 765G supports capacity based on up to 12 GB LPDDR4x RAM, and eMMC 5.1 & UFS 2.1.
In the display case, Snapdragon 690 supports HDR10 + and HDR10 displays with a resolution of up to 120Hz for Full HD Plus and 60Hz for Quad HD.
